It was in an article about Giants manager Felipe Alou refusing to accept an apology from the radio announcer who made racist statements about Caribbean ballplayers. It quoted someone as saying, "I would literally give my right arm to be able to apologize to Alou." Dang! Maybe the guy's left-handed but still. Quite a sacrifice!</summary>

    <summary type="html">Personally, I don't give a rat's whisker about the distinction between "its" and "it's" (i know darn well the correct usage and deliberately misuse it anyway, so kill me), but the thing that sometimes irritates me is some peoples' propensity to hyper-apostrophize any word ending in "s", plural or not, posessive or not.&#xD;
&#xD;
We're talking about ADULTS here, and it is all too common.&#xD;
&#xD;
An extreme example:  One time, in a big city, I saw a fast food joint with a hand painted sign on the side that _literally_ advertised:&#xD;
&#xD;
BURGER'S FRIE'S SHAKE'S&#xD;
&#xD;
OK, "burger's and shake's" I can forgive, but "FRIE'S"?!  Come ON, people!  You're making me want to scoop my own eye's out with spoon's!&#xD;
&#xD;
Literally.</summary>
